God, family and friends, and career are the priorities of Pastor Larry C. Weston’s life-sustaining beliefs.Of the many things that he has nestled into his heart, under the spiritually nourishing hands of his beloved parents, the Late Pastor Benjamin F. Weston and the late Mrs. Janie Vaughan Weston, his relationship with God is ranked number one. This relationship with God has given him a list of favorite songs and hymns to include: "The Lord Will Make a Way Somehow" and "Hold to God’s Unchanging Hands." It has also given unto him a favorite scripture, “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” Rev. Weston has many fond family memories. Among them are the cherishable memories of being brought up in a loving Christian home, driving a bus in high school, and spending time with his family, his father, mother and sister. He dotes on times spent with his father in the summertime under a tree. Pastor Weston relishes the memory of his father as a man with a life that was committed to Christ. As he has grown to adulthood, Pastor Weston’s immediate family includes: his loving daughter Raquel, a ninth grade honor students at Lower Richland High School (Columbia), his sister, Dr. Lois Weston Green, who serves as the chair of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church’s Women’s Ministry; two nephews, Claude and Mark, their wives, DeAnna and Williana, and sons, Jalen, Jordan and Donovan. The Christian foundation and loving home of Pastor Weston have lead to many successes in his life.Among his accomplishments are the distinguished honor of being one of the first Blacks to sit on the University of South Carolina Board of Trustees and the first Black to sit on Tuomey Healthcare Center Medical Board. Pastor Weston views his greatest successes as being called into the ministry and being called of God to pastor; first, at Greeview First Baptist Church in Columbia, South Carolina, and now here at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Weston earned his bachelor and juris doctorate degrees from South Carolina State University Orangeburg , South Carolina ) and the University of South Carolina Columbia , South Carolina ) respectively. Pastor Weston is a practicing attorney with a law firm in Sumter , but readily notes that it is secondary to his ministry for God. As he seeks to provide quality legal services to his clients in his law practice, his dreams are deeply rooted in God’s will. This serves to impact his calling and profession. He also notes that his desire is to be the best father that he can be to his daughter and the best brother he can be to his sister. His vision is embedded in God’s vision for Trinity. This includes leading Trinity into the construction of a new facility and making a major impact in the community in which our church is situated. This impact he sees as embracing social, cultural, and economic development in and beyond the community in which we are located. God has also imputed in Pastor Weston’s heart to expand Trinity’s ministries to serve the needs of the members of the community in a greater sense.Pastor Weston has an immortal platform of love and fellowship and he continues to grow in his walk with the Master and stay firm in his allegiance to Him. He also is convinced that as Christians we must see ourselves as citizens of heaven and not citizens of earth though we live on earth. Our every action should reflect that of a heavenly citizen. In a final theocratic note, he is unalterable rooted in the belief that we must give our best to God with regards to our time, talents and tithes. When you put everything in a nutshell and get to the meat of it, Pastor Weston wants us to know him as a servant of God, who like his father, has consecrated his life to service in the Kingdom of God.
